Flannery
Marine Biologist & International Developer (no kidding!)
Hello! My name is Flannery Cross. Working with people is my passion. I love discussing ideas and finding ways to make them a reality, and I feel that technology is one of the best ways to get us there.
In 2021 I graduated from Dalhousie University with a major in Marine Biology and a minor in International Development, focusing in the field of women’s studies. Ever since I was young, I’ve loved spending as much time as I could near or in the ocean. That love grew throughout university and I wanted to find ways to incorporate studies that may eventually help in expanding all aspects of ocean conservation. International development spoke to me as a way to learn to bring people together through discussions, and to potentially bridge the gap between science and policy.
I grew up dancing at the local dance school in my small town, and those 14 years taught me so many skills that I used in school and now in everyday life. Dance brings confidence, creativity, patience, endurance, rhythm, and long-lasting friendships with amazing people. It’s a valuable form of athleticism that I believe everyone should try. Dance brings people together in many beautiful ways, and I want to help other dance schools achieve their goals any way possible.
